TAMSIN MAC CARTHY IS PRODUCER/DIRECTOR AND FOUNDER OF ORACLE PICTURES.
 

 

Tamsin is a 3rd generation story teller with a passion for great film.

 

She grew up on sets of commercial and feature productions and went on to graduate from Loyola Marymount University with the role of directing as her holy grail.  Within a year she had won MNET's "Best New Director" award and her film "Cry Me A Baby" was selected for Cannes, Toronto and FESPACO and was distributed by Channel 4.  Two subsequent films she directed "Stompie & the Red Tide" and "Samsara" were selected for the Berlin Short Film Festival and distributed worldwide as part of the Imaginites series.

 

She was promoted to the board of director's of Movie Makers International, a premiere principal and servicing production company based in Cape Town, South Africa with a client list including Scott Free, @Radical Media, Rhythm & Hues, Laughing Horse, Franco American, Hamburg Films.

 

As a freelance commercial director she has worked with Jupiter Drawing Room, Joe Public Advertising and has directed numerous music videos and documentaries.

 

Under her banner Oracle Pictures, she produced, wrote and directed the winning film adaptation for "The Experimental Witch" for bestselling author Paulo Coelho.  An international initiative to translate the book "The Witch of Portobello" to the screen.  The film premiered at the Rome Film Festival and went on to win "The Cinema for Peace Award".

Oracle is currently developing a slate of features, series and documentary projects.
